چکیده

The main result announced here is a negative solution of the Kakutani-Doob problem [3 ] on measurability of stochastic processes, assuming the continuum hypothesis. Thus the positive solution proposed earlier by M. Mahowald [ó] is incorrect (the last step in the argument applies the Fubini theorem to sets in a product space which need not be measurable). Complete proofs will appear in the Proceedings of the Sixth Berkeley Symposium on Mathematical Statistics and Probability. Preprints are available from the author. The problem can be formulated as follows. Let

NORM AND INNER PRODUCT ON FUZZY LINEAR SPACES OVER FUZZY FIELDS

In this paper, we introduce the concepts of norm and inner prod- uct on fuzzy linear spaces over fuzzy elds and discuss some fundamental properties.

Exchanging Iterated Expectations of Random Upper Semicontinuous Functions: an application to decision theory

In this paper we present a procedure to deal with a kind of single-stage decision problems with imprecise utilities. In this type of problems the product measurability of the utility function is not required. So that, the involved expectations are calculated by means of iterated integrals instead of integrals over product spaces. Keywords— Bayesian decision analysis, Iterated expectation, Kudo-...

Recent Progress in Ergodic Theory

Prologue. In 1948, at the November meeting of the Society in Chicago, I delivered an address entitled Measurable transformations. In the twelve years that have elapsed since then, ergodic theory (of which the theory of measurable transformations is the greatest part) has been spectacularly active. The purpose of today's address is to report some of the developments of those twelve years ; its t...

Weak Measure Extension Axioms

We consider axioms asserting that Lebesgue measure on the real line may be extended to measure a few new non-measurable sets. Strong versions of such axioms, such as real-valued measurability, involve large cardinals, but weak versions do not. We discuss weak versions which are suucient to prove various combinatorial results, such as the non-existence of Ramsey ultraalters, the existence of ccc...

Mean-Square Continuity on Homogeneous Spaces of Compact Groups

We show that any finite-variance, isotropic random field on a compact group is necessarily meansquare continuous, under standard measurability assumptions. The result extends to isotropic random fields defined on homogeneous spaces where the group acts continuously. •
